Veganuary is upon us and more customers than ever are making a conscious effort to purchase vegan friendly, cruelty free and sustainable products and treatments. With the veganism lifestyle growing at a large rate, Food, Fashion & Entertainment industries have had to adapt to the consumers demand for vegan friendly products, and now this change has also progressed into Beauty.

But what’s the difference between cruelty free and vegan? Cruelty-free means the products have not be tested on animals. Vegan friendly means the products do not contain any animal products, such as beeswax, animal fat, and crushed beetles. Let’s be honest, you don’t have to be a vegan to be put off by that.

Here at Outback Organics, we have selected our favourite vegan friendly products for both beauty treatments and for retailing to your clients.

Vegan treatments

By far our favourite vegan friendly professional product has to be our Opal peelable wax. It is a hypoallergenic, fast drying, strip less peelable wax, perfect for clients who have sensitive skin and those who suffer from colophony allergies. It is designed to remove the shortest and most stubborn of hairs as well as fine, downy fuzz with ease. It also smells delicious, containing a blend of indigenous Australian plums so your treatment room will be filled with a delightful sweet aroma.

To ensure your clients skin is protected use our 4-in-1 Botanical Oil. The dry oil helps create a protective barrier between the wax and skin for more comfortable hair removal. As well as maintaining the body’s own hydro-lipid layer while nourishing and conditioning the skin with essential fatty acids, naturally accruing vitamins and powerful antioxidants.

Our Botanical Oil and Gel Cleanser come hand in hand as both can be used pre and post waxing! Our Gel Cleanser is a botanically enriched skin sanitiser containing aloe vera and natural extracts of cucumber, rosehip and Australian bush mint. It’s alcohol free formula gently removes traces of oil, perspiration and body care products in preparation for waxing.

If your looking for a vegan friendly strip wax, look no further as we have 3 of them! All of our gel formulated strip waxes are vegan friendly including the roller wax cartridges as well. Choose between our all time customer favourite, True Blue strip wax, with a blue shimmery appearance, the wax glides smoothly over the contours of the body to remove the toughest of hairs cleanly and easily with no stickiness left behind. Coming in next we have our newest strip wax, our Eucalyptus, a luxurious green shimmering wax enriched with eucalyptus oil which ensures pore opening and maximum hair removal. Or give your clients a first class waxing experience with our Gold strip wax, with a low heating temperature and with easy application, your clients will be in the upmost comfort during their waxing treatment.

Vegan retail

It’s tough to pick a favourite vegan friendly retail product, as we have so many! So we’ll base this one on our customers opinions and select the best selling products.

Coming in on top is our Ingrown hair serum, many of our customers and their clients swear by it and stock the 8ml rollerball all year round due to the demand. The vegan friendly, dual action formula, contains pineapple and papaya fruit enzymes, blended with hydroxy acid derivative to exfoliate the area where the hair is trapped.

If you have regular clients having bikini waxes our Bush Balm is an essential product for them to use at home. Give your clients a free sample after their first treatment and suggest they stock the retail size (50ml/100ml) when they come for their next appointment! Use straight after waxing to sooth and reduce redness and between appointments to help prevent ingrown hairs.
