Aftercare helps reduce irritation, redness and inflammation caused by hair removal. Waxing leaves skin more vulnerable to bacteria, blocked follicles and moisture loss. Using the right post-depilation products calms the skin, supports healing and reduces the risk of ingrown hairs or post-wax breakouts.
Which products are best for calming the skin after waxing?
Aloe Vera Gel and Bush Balm are two of our most effective calming products. Aloe Vera Gel provides lightweight cooling and is ideal for use immediately after waxing or sun exposure. Bush Balm is a richer, fragrance-free formula that works well for intimate areas, underarms, and sensitive skin. Both can be used in the salon or at home.
Can I use Post Wax Lotion on sensitive skin?
Yes, Post Wax Lotion is gentle enough for most skin types and is enriched with natural extracts such as aloe vera, cucumber and witch hazel. It’s particularly well suited for large areas like the legs and arms, where a lightweight, fast-absorbing formula is needed. For very sensitive or intimate areas, Bush Balm is recommended.
What’s the difference between Bush Balm and Aloe Vera Gel?
Bush Balm is a rich, creamy moisturiser that’s ideal for particularly sore or sensitive areas. It contains shea butter, macadamia oil and allantoin to reduce redness and protect the skin. Aloe Vera Gel is a lighter formula with a cooling sensation, great for hot climates or clients who dislike heavier creams. Both reduce irritation but offer different textures and levels of hydration.
How can I prevent ingrown hairs between appointments?
Regular exfoliation and moisturising are key. Our Face & Body Scrub gently removes dead skin and can be used two to three times a week. Follow with a hydrating product like Bush Balm or Hand and Body Lotion to keep the skin soft. Post Wax Spray also helps prevent follicle blockages when used daily after waxing. Alternatively, we would also recommend our ingrown hair serum, which we suggest to use 24 hours after waxing.
Can clients use these products at home?
Yes. Many of our post-depilation products are available in smaller sizes perfect for retail. Aloe Vera Gel, Bush Balm, Face & Body Scrub and Hand and Body Lotion can all be used at home to extend the benefits of waxing and support skin health between treatments.
What is the benefit of using Post Wax Spray?
Post Wax Spray helps prevent post-wax pimples, especially on the back, chest, legs and underarms. It contains antibacterial lemon myrtle oil, grapefruit seed extract and soothing botanicals. It’s ideal for breakout-prone or oily skin and should be used immediately after waxing and then twice daily for up to five days.
Is the Hand and Body Lotion suitable for post-wax use?
Yes. This light, nourishing lotion is enriched with macadamia oil and tea tree to soothe and hydrate the skin after waxing. It’s ideal for larger areas like arms, legs and backs. However, for intimate areas or the face, Bush Balm is a gentler option.
How often should Aloe Vera Gel be applied after waxing?
It can be applied up to three times a day, or as often as needed to reduce redness and heat. It’s suitable for use anywhere on the face or body and is especially appreciated by male clients or those who prefer a non-greasy finish. It absorbs quickly and leaves no sticky residue.
