Outback Organics products are made with a range of botanical ingredients, many of which originate from Australia’s coastlines, forest and bushlands. Our products are infused with Australian spirit, right from the heart of Somerset countryside.
Tea Tree - Everyone knows about Tea Tree Oil by now, but we’re still going to shout about it. One of natures strongest antiseptics, its healing properties have been recognised for millennia. It can be used as an insect repellent, a treatment for dandruff, a healing aid for wounds, and a treatment for spots and acne. It can be found in our skin wash, hand & body lotion, some of our wax products, and even scenting one of our candles! It was the basis of Outback Organics when we first launched, and it will continue to be an important part of our range.
Lemon Myrtle – Another antiseptic oil, but with a fresh citrus fragrance. This uplifting oil has been used by indigenous people of Australia as a stimulant and tonic for thousands of years. Described by some as smelling more ‘lemony’ than lemon itself, it’s a sweet and fragrant oil that can be found in many of our pre & post waxing solutions.
Cucumber – this common kitchen staple has anti-inflammatory properties, and its cooling freshness is used in many of our skincare products. Better for more than just cheese sandwiches, it reduces puffiness and swelling which is why you’ll find it in so many of our products!
Rosehip Oil – A source of Vitamin A (also known as retinol), antioxidants and essential fatty acids including linolenic acid, rosehip oil aids in skin elasticity and softness while promoting skin renewal. It can also help treating dark spots, sun damage and scarring. It’s an active ingredient in Botanical Body Oil and Post Wax Lotion.
Aloe Vera – A very well known plant with moisturising properties, it’s soothing juice is perfect on irritated skin. It can also increase collagen production to stimulate healing. Aside from our Aloe Vera gel, it can also be found in our Gel Cleanser, Bush Balm and Intimate Wipes.
Witch Hazel – well known as an astringent plant extract, witch hazel is a powerful antioxidant that can be used to treat acne, psoriasis and sunburn. It’s found in our Post Wax Lotion, but be aware that used too often or in high concentrations Witch Hazel can be drying, so is best used with other ingredients.
Patchouli Oil – This earthy essential oil is great for using on dry and irritated skin, as it stimulates the regeneration of skin cells. This is why it’s part of our new skincare range. It may also have some antibacterial benefits and has been shown to be anti-inflammatory.
Macadamia Oil – a rich nut oil from an Australian tree, the palmitoleic acid and Vitamin E are easily absorbed by the skin. It is deeply nourishing and moisturising, which is why you’ll find it in our Bush Balm and Hand & Body Lotion.
